Changsha, Jan. 6 (China news service) -- the M4 subway line in Ankara, the capital of Turkey, opened Friday afternoon. The line, which took 13 years to open, runs on high-end metro vehicles developed by CRRC zhuzhou electric locomotive co.

The opening of the line also marks a new era for its localization joint venture in Turkey, the zhuzhou, hunan-based CRRC zhuzhou locomotive and rolling stock corporation said Tuesday.

In 2009, China's high-end rail equipment entered the European market as CRRC won the izmir light rail project exported to Turkey.

In August 2012, CRRC zhuzhou locomotive co., ltd. successfully won the bid for 324 units of Ankara metro, and began to deliver M1, M2 and M3 lines successively in July 2013. So far, the total operating mileage of these delivered vehicles has exceeded 67.85 million kilometers, among which the passenger capacity reached more than 74 million in 2016, which greatly relieved the traffic pressure in the central city of Ankara and facilitated the travel of people in the Turkish capital.

The metro vehicles developed by CRRC have greatly improved the travel conditions of local people, and their smooth operation, comfortable interior decoration, real-time dynamic map display, humanized disabled and pregnant areas, and special person area Settings have been praised by passengers.

At the beginning of 2013, CRRCMNG joint venture company was established by CRRCMNG with local investment in Turkey, which started to implement the internationalization strategy of localized procurement, localized manufacturing and localized labor, and realized the transformation and upgrading from exporting products to exporting technologies to Europe.

"I used to work for other companies, but as soon as I saw the job listing for the joint venture, I switched companies." The company currently represents the highest level of the Turkish rail transportation industry, where the world's most advanced rail transportation technology can be learned, according to the joint venture's electrical engineer ilwan.

According to tan changqing, regional director of CRRC Turkey and general manager of the joint venture, the remaining metro vehicles under the contract will be assembled and tested locally, with the first batch expected to be delivered by the end of 2017. This will promote the development of local labor and related supporting industrial chain, improve the supporting capacity of Turkey's rail transit industry, and provide hundreds of local jobs.
